FRI, with the support of the Saniikos group, has created the Sani Environmental Observatory, which is part of the Greek and European network of long-term ecological research (LTER). Numerous sensors recording various environmental parameters, as well as infrastructure for monitoring the biodiversity of the ecosystem are established. Research projects are implemented at SEO, students are trained and forest visitors are familiarized with environmental research.
