FRI manages a network of 10 automated meteorological stations in forest areas in Greece, at an altitude ranging from 5 to 1125 m. Basic meteorological parameters, such as solar radiation, temperature and relative air humidity, wind speed and direction and precipitation, are recorded in all stations. Additionally, some stations provide additional soil moisture and temperature data. The data are recorded with a 30-minute interval and are obtained telemetrically. FRI has developed significant expertise in processing, analyzing and calculating additional meteorological data and modeling, resulting in complete time series, which have been evaluated and marked with the appropriate quality flags. These data are provided to public bodies (Authorities, Universities, Research Institutions), as well as to private bodies upon request.
